She adds these responsibilities to her membership on the House Health and Human Services and House Urban Affairs committees, as well as the House Republican Policy Committee’s Infrastructure Task Force.

State Rep. Karen Beyer (R-Lehigh/Northampton) is introducing legislation that makes false caller identification a punishable offense. House Bill 2064 makes it illegal for a person attempting to defraud other parties to cause false caller ID information to be displayed on a recipient’s telephone.

Citing recent audit reports of the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare that revealed problems with fraud, abuse and waste that have bloated Pennsylvania’s Department of Public Welfare, Reps.
